The pricepoints for boardshorts are spread from €30 to €+100 for the highly technical pieces: what is your positioning as far as pricepoints are concerned?

We offer swimshorts and boardshow between 49,99 – 69,99, where the boardshorts are around 69,99 euros.

What are the main design trends of SS24 for (surfing) boardshorts?

Many of Protest’s boardshorts this collection is part of our PVRE Green series. These PVRE Greenshorts are made from recycled polyester, turning used PET bottles back into polyester chips which are used on its turn to produce new yarn and weaving it into this functional fabric. This material is durable, quick drying and has 4way stretch. Besides the sustainable aspects of those boardshorts, they are made for action. This season we’re upgrading our line with fixed waistband styles with hidden adjustable cords so that you can get the fit that you need. There are also half-elastic styles with an elasticated section at the back. With other technical details like an anti-slip waistband, a lycra fly and interior pocket with keycord, these boardshorts are made to help you get there.

Same question for walkshorts/beachshorts.

We have beach shorts half-elastic 19’’, beach shorts full-elastic 19’’, beach shorts full-elastic 16’’and beach shorts full-elastic 14’’. The theme of this SS24 season will be Oriental Bazar. This season we will bring you blue colors combined with burned pink tones, we have a green color palette combined with orange and yellow. The collection features new refreshing and summery colors such as yellow, green and pink. We will have some mini-prints in oriental surf style, tie-dye prints, stripes and leaves. Also, you’ll see some 80’s styles.

Which stories will be the main focus of your SS24 boardshort/walkshort collections?

The main focus of the SS24 boardshort/walkshort collections from Protest will revolve around the PVRE Green series, emphasizing sustainability and functionality. These boardshorts are made from recycled polyester derived from used PET bottles, showcasing Protest's commitment to environmentally friendly practices. The material offers durability, quick-drying properties, and 4-way stretch for active use.

This season, Protest is introducing upgraded designs in their line of boardshorts, featuring fixedwaistband styles with hidden adjustable cords to provide a customizable fit. There are also half-elastic styles with an elasticated section at the back.
