HDry and Burton Snowboards Announce New R&D Partnership

HDry and Burton Snowboards have announced a new partnership focused on the expansion and evolution of HDry’s direct 3D membrane lamination technology—the most advanced technology for waterproofing outdoor products. The initial partnership will focus on research and development efforts within an undisclosed product assortment.

“At Burton, we have a relentless focus on bringing innovative products to life,” said Burton Snowboards Chief Product Officer Chris Cunningham. “By partnering with HDry on this R&D effort, we see a massive opportunity to disrupt traditional methods of building waterproof technical garments, while significantly increasing performance attributes through HDry’s 3D lamination technology. This unique manufacturing process firmly aligns with Burton’s strategic sustainability goals and our pursuit of increasing on-snow performance.”

HDry technology provides the direct, three-dimensional application of a waterproof, breathable membrane inside a product like a shoe or glove, thus eliminating any space for moisture to penetrate or stagnate. The HDry waterproofing process reduces material consumption, uses little to no seam taping, and weighs less than other waterproofing solutions. HDry membrane is 100% PFAS free and is made without the use of PTFE’s. HDry is OEKOTEK 100 Standard certified and ECHA REACH, AFIRM RSL compliant.

About HDry:

Patented HDry technology provides the direct, three-dimensional application of a waterproof/breathable membrane inside the shoe upper or the outer layer of the glove, thus eliminating any space that could cause infiltration and stagnation of water. HDry is owned by Altexa srl, based in Italy with an operations branch in China. For more information on HDry, pl www.HDry.com.
