What is the overall theme behind your 2024/25 outerwear range? From which big trends do you take your inspiration?
We do not follow trends when developing our outerwear. Our goal is to make our outerwear as functional, durable, responsibly made and timeless as possible. This design ethos applies to all aspects of our outerwear from materials to fit, features and colors.
What new fits / silhouettes are coming out in 2024/25? What pant and jacket styles are most important in your range?
We totally redesigned the Men’s Shralpinist Gore collection for 24/25. The collection includes a restyled jacket and brand new bibs. Both are made with the new 3L C-Knit GORE-TEX ePE that is 100% PFAS free. We also restyled the MTN Surf parka and anorak, plus added a new uninsulated 2L shell jacket to the MTN Surf Collection. The parka has a fresh look with more bellowed pockets and the anorak has a higher kangaroo pocket. We have three collections that each serve a unique and distinct purpose. The Shralpinist Gore collection includes our most durable and protective gear that’s made to excel in extreme weather. The Shralpinist Stretch collection is highly breathable and waterproof with incredible stretch for comfort and mobility. It is excellent for high output missions, but works equally well as a resort layering system. The MTN Surf is our fun and extremely comfortable two-layer collection that includes both insulated and uninsulated pieces. Though it’s well suited for resort riding, many of our team riders love to tour in MTN Surf kits.
What new colours / prints are you introducing?
We’re really excited about the new colors for 24/25. We introduced a gorgeous teal and a fun purple to our timeless brown, gray and black pallet. We’re also continuing to feature an all-over print by painter RP Roberts in a teal and black print.
Any *NEW* technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials?
The Shralpinist GORE-TEX 3L collection will now be made with GORE-TEX C-KNIT ePE. This collection was previously made with GORE-TEX PRO. GORE-TEX C-KNIT ePE is lighter, softer and more packable than GORE-TEX PRO, which will make the outerwear more comfortable for splitboarding. With the change, both the Shralpinst GORE 3L collection, and the entire Jones softgoods line will now be 100% PFAS free. All our main shell materials in the Jones outerwear line are also 100% recycled, and we are the only snowboard brand using 100% recycled 750+ fillpower down in our down insulation jackets.
Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
As already mentioned, we do not follow any trends. One thing we are moving away from, however, is using single use plastic in our packaging. For our F24/25 bulk shipments, we’re replacing all recycled polybags with paper VELA bags. This is an early effort toward our goal of eliminating all plastic from our packaging by 25/26.
What are your top marketing stories for 2024/25? (This will help us to put some focus in the right place.)
Our top marketing stories will be the redesigned and new products in the Shralpinist Gore and MTN Surf collections. Using GORE-TEX C-KNIT ePE for the Shralpinist Gore collection is especially exciting as the change means all Jones softgoods, backpacks and outerwear are 100% PFAS free. The switch also keeps us ahead of pending legislation in the USA and Europe that will ban PFAS from some consumer products by winter 25/26.
