What about new board construction, innovation, or shape trends? Any big advancements in functionality? Skinning, transitions, etc, as well as riding? Any specific effort on ranges for 24/25? If yes, where and why?
We are doing two split board models this year. Travis’s split Orca and our new Escalator 153 short light split. The Orca takes the soft snow directional performance of Travis’s Natural Selection winning pillow blaster and makes it tour ready. For all our splits we add significantly more Paulownia to drop weight and with the Orca we modified the tail curve and contours and shape slightly to make it ascent and clip friendly. Travis loves it and its become a favorit with our crew. The new model we are doing is our Escalator short light micro camber model. This one is optimized for all you need in on a split day…anything extra has been eliminated. We went as light as possible on the Paulaownia core and reduced the size down to a 153 targeted medium and large boarders. We used a very low 3mm camber to help with skin hook up on ascents and along with the large floaty nose maximize funand float on the down. The short length is light nimble in tight steep terrain and easy on kick turns and the large nose and shorter directional tail provides plenty of lift.
