2024/25 Nitro Splitboarding Gear:
The year 2024 marks 30 years of Nitro Splitboarding since the introduction of the TOUR 169cm Splitboard back in 1994. Today, Nitro offers a refined line of splitboarding gear. Starting with a board program of various shapes that are dialed-in for all types of touring and terrain, including custom fitted skins. The VERTICAL binding, co-developed with the leading specialists at Spark R&D and crampon-compatible, splitboarding specific boots, hiking poles and a line of backpacks designed with a focus on backcountry snowboarding. While Splitboarding in its early stage was highly experimental and a constant work in progress, today’s products have reached a level where shops and customers alike, can purchase well engineered products without having to macgyver the gear to make it work. Boards riding got very close to their solid counterparts, bindings are well-engineered and reliable even in harsh conditions and converting from hiking- to riding-mode is the smoothest it has ever been. Don’t need to be a splitboarding nerd to find the right product, mount it and go hiking…that’s what makes the sport accessible and fun and the category popular in past years.

Splitboarding Boots:

Splitboard Binding:
The new VERTICAL ST, developed build in a partnership with Spark R&D in the US, features the new Smooth Travel tech on touring brackets and heel risers. All gliding surfaces have been upgraded from heavy metal bearings to low friction polymers, saving energy on the way up while increasing durability by 4-times. The VERTICAL ST bindings come with Übergrip toe straps featuring recycled Vibram rubber for best fit with any boot shape and cable-reinforced ratchet straps and connectors to maximize reliability in the backcountry.
