Retail Buyers Guide:  Skate Footwear S/S 2025 Retail Buyers Guide
Brand:  Osiris
Interviewee: Brian Barber / General Manager, Brian Reid / Creative Design

How was the European skate footwear market last year?
Building for us and getting better.

How is it faring so far this year?
So far, it’s been good, we are growing our Brand and showing great potential.

What are your main price points for next season?
The D3S, The Rec and Troma Alt.

What are the stories you’re pushing this season?
We’re proudly upholding our legacy as the original tech footwear brand. Leveraging our strengths in our original color theories, as we anchor our designs with solid bases while incorporating vibrant pops of color. Embracing strong primary hues and timeless skate materials, we’ve also integrated innovative fade techniques into our latest line to push boundaries.

What is your collection theme for SS25?
“Grounded-POP.” The use of strong palatable / sellable base colors while adding pop colors.

How are you catering to shops/customers regarding your marketing approach? Events and so?
We prioritize our online strategy and distributor partners. While we do engage in some print opportunities, we ensure they align with our brand’s DNA, emphasizing skate imagery alongside captivating shoe imagery!

What design trends are you noticing in the market currently?
Shoes that look like ours! Remember who started it all. The full figured, technical skate shoe look! Personified but not limited to the D3/ D32001. Also shoes like the PERIL, PIXEL more Osiris Classics.

Any new technology in your line we should watch out for?
What is old is new!  And now refreshed! Our original technology of front and rear airbags has been a staple of our brand since 2000. While others abandoned and replaced their “Air tech,” we not only retained it but also made subtle enhancements to the tooling. We’ve developed a proprietary midsole blend, prioritizing comfort, and durability. Furthermore, we’ve collaborated closely with our tooling factory and airbag manufacturer to ensure we possess the finest air technology, emphasizing comfort, durability, and flexibility.

Does your footwear brand have a sustainable element? Vegan shoes?
Since 2000, our focus has been on utilizing vegan materials, positioning us as one of the pioneers recognized and endorsed by PETA. Our journey towards creating vegan-friendly footwear stemmed from a two-part process. Initially, it was a personal decision influenced by a visit to a tannery overseas, echoing the sentiments of Jimmy Carrey’s iconic character, Ace Ventura, “WHAT A LOVELY ROOM OF DEATH.” Witnessing the impact of our material choices on animals and the environment made our path evident. The durability of synthetics, arguably superior, further solidified our decision. While we offer non-vegan options as a skate brand, we ensure that any use of suedes is both strategic and minimal.
