Retail Buyers Guide: Wetsuits S/S 2025 Retail Buyers Guide
Brand: PATAGONIA
Interviewee: Gabe Davies, Ocean Marketing Manager EMEA
There has never been so many participants out there in the water, however the retailers wetsuit hangers still display some 2023 SKUs: How was the 2024 market and order levels?
The production life cycle of a wetsuit is 2 to 3 years generally. Beyond mere carry overs, how should we extend that life cycle of the product, avoiding aggressive discounts and bettering the environmental impact? At Patagonia, we focus on building product that is made for years rather than seasonal trends. Developed with durability as the most important factor of product quality, all our products, including wetsuits, fall under our Ironclad Guarantee and come with free repairs so they can be out in the water for seasons on end.
The 3/2 fullsuit is the piece de resistance of the spring-summer range, what are the latest developments within your collection (men, women, youth)?
In Fall 2023, we re-launched our wetsuit line with the Regulator collection, offering a more flexible, comfortable, and warm suit that was designed with feedback from our wetsuit repair team to make it even more durable. Still 100% neoprene-free, this line is introduced in Spring 2024 and there to stay for the next seasons to come.
Among the various summer silhouettes (springsuit, short/leg fullsuit, long/short john, jacket) which are bestselling (men, women, youth)? And what do you offer in these segements?
Which neoprene options did you use for SS25? Since 2014, we are using Yulex natural rubber and are proud to be 100% neoprene free, lowering the environmental impact of our wetsuits and the harmful effect of neoprene production on communities around those factories.
