AMPLIFI TECHNICAL SNOW BACKPACKS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Technical Snow Backpacks F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Amplifi
Interviewee: Tom Howells, Head of Design

Which technical snowpacks sold best in the winter 2023/24 and why?
We had good even sales across the board, meaning that our retailers were happy – though we felt like we did particularly well on our mid-volume packs with super technical features.

Are you feeling the impact of climate challenges (unpredictable conditions, snow at higher altitudes, more expensive costs) on your product demand and development?
Sure, like everyone is, though last winter things worked out pretty OK for us. It’s fine to talk about it all, but who’s actually making a real change? Well, at AMPLIFI we’re trying our best to reduce our carbon footprint, and also allow our products to be recycled or renewed. We hope we’re the lead that other guys start to follow.

What are the technical highlights in construction and materials of your 2025/26 collection?
We’ve got a really awesome new shoulder strap construction, the Wishbone Strap. It’s very articulated and keeps the pressure off your shoulders, so keeps things lightweight and comfortable. The seamless molded construction allows are consistent quality and performance. We’ve also continued our development on hip belts and back panels – these details are the difference between a pack that works, and a pack that really helps you have better, longer and less tiring sessions on the mountain. New for 2025 is the matte FACE-PC coating on the exterior wall of the packs. This makes the packs even more robust against the elements and abrasion.

What color palettes, prints or patterns are you featuring in your 2025/26 collection?
We keep it muted, you can’t move to far from black-on-black – it goes with everything! We do add in a few cheeky colour hits here and there though.

Which technical snowpacks do you expect the most growth from in 2025/2026 and why?
We expect growth throughout the range, our sales are evenly balanced, and we expect even growth throughout. That said, sometimes you get a spike in the range, and mid-sized high level technical packs seem like they’re looking pretty hot this season!

How are you implementing sustainability in your products and production processes?
We’re increasing the use of sustainable materials throughout the range. For example: MIPAN® regen is the world’s first recycled nylon filament yarn made for textile usage. It is made from pre-consumer waste.  In the manufacturing process the uptake rate of petroleum resources is reduced significantly, we are speaking of 95% decrease in the use of fossil oils compared to the production of conventional nylon. The yarn has a 100% Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certification. As well the new Wishbone strap construction with main parts being molded reduces significantly the cut offs and uses the raw materials with higher efficiency.

How are you helping retailers to sell this category?
We offer POS support, custom designed sales materials for in-store displays. No matter how big or small the retailer is, we can get them exactly what they need. Also we keep things super simple for ordering, re-ordering and other guarantees such as easy processing of warranties and related issues. We’re trying to keep support up for our retailers, new and old.
