ORTOVOX TECHNICAL SNOW BACKPACKS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Technical Snow Backpacks F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  ORTOVOX
Interviewee: Tobias Maletz, Product Manager Skiing

Which technical snowpacks sold best in the winter 2023/24 and why?
TMA: The best selling technical snowpacks are still our packs specificly designed for ski touring. And the why is quite easy to answer. They are highly functional and developed for ski touring. They come with a ton of features and comfort, but still look really clean. But our freeride specific backpacks are starting to catch up. Especially with our new RAVINE styles and new colors for our existing freeride packs.

Are you feeling the impact of climate challenges (unpredictable conditions, snow at higher altitudes, more expensive costs) on your product demand and development?
TMA: Yes for sure. We see and feel the change. And we always have it in mind when we are making decisions about our products and product lines.

What are the technical highlights in construction and materials of your 2025/26 collection?
TMA: The technical highlights are our updated FREERIDER backpacks. We checked all existing features for their usability and need. And actually got rid of some and added a few new features. The materials where really good already and there was no reason for a change. We are already PFC/PFAS free and all of our main fabrics are recycled. So thery are already on a high level when it comes to environmental footprints.

What color palettes, prints or patterns are you featuring in your 2025/26 collection?
TMA: The colors are getting again more earthy. The hole collection fits perfectly together, from head to toe.

Which technical snowpacks do you expect the most growth from  in 2025/2026 and why?
TMA: Our new POWDER RIDER 16! It was already a very good selling backpack. But the update hase two new features compared to the existing one. This will defintly push the 16 liter backpack far ahead.

How are you implementing sustainability in your products and production processes?
TMA: We are already PFC/PFAS free since a couple of productions. Our partners are all certified by Fairwear Foundation. We always try to avoid leftovers as good as we can. And of course we are using as many recycled fabrics and trims as possible. Always in mind to create a very durable pack.
