K2 SNOWBOARD BOOTS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW
Retail Buyers Guide: Snowboard Boots F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: K2
Interviewee: K2 marketing coordinator
Are you introducing any new or innovative materials (for outer shell, reinforcement, cushioning, support, or grip) in your 2025/2026 boots?
K2 Snowboard boots are built with advanced features that prioritize fit, comfort, and performance across all models. Key innovations include:
1. BOA® Zonal Lacing vs. Conda™ Liner Lacing: Many K2 boots offer dual-zonal BOA® systems, allowing separate adjustments for the upper and lower boot sections for a highly customized fit. Meanwhile, Conda™ liner lacing specifically tightens the internal liner with a side dial, providing enhanced heel hold and support. Zonal lacing manages overall boot fit, while Conda™ focuses on securing the liner.
2. Intuition® Foam Liner: K2 boots often feature the heat-moldable Intuition® Control Foam 3D liner, which adapts to the shape of the rider’s foot for personalized comfort and support.
3. SpaceHeater™ Material: Integrated into the midsole, K2’s SpaceHeater™ material insulates and reflects body heat, keeping feet warm even in colder conditions.
4. EVA Midsole and High-Traction Outsole: The lightweight EVA midsole provides shock absorption, while a rugged rubber outsole delivers reliable traction on icy or uneven surfaces.
What lacing systems will be your main focus for the 2025/2026 boots?
The new BOA® system featured in K2 snowboard boots allows for precise micro-adjustments, enabling riders to untighten the boot incrementally rather than loosening it all at once. This feature is a game-changer for snowboarders who want quick, on-the-go adjustments without disrupting their overall fit. With this new BOA system, instead of completely unwinding the dial and risking a loose, unstable fit, riders can simply turn the dial back slightly to release tension just a little bit, allowing for minor adjustments to accommodate changing comfort needs throughout the day. This makes it easy to relieve pressure points or slightly adjust the tightness without having to start from scratch, offering a custom, secure feel with maximum convenience.
What are the dominant visual themes, patterns, and materials you’ll be highlighting in next year’s boot line? Any artist collaborations or notable partnerships?
For the 2025/26 season, we’re excited to be enhancing Sage Kotsenburg’s pro boot, the Orton, in collaboration with him. Together, we’re refining the design and integrating even more advanced technology to meet Sage’s high standards for performance and comfort. This partnership ensures that the Orton continues to push boundaries, delivering a boot that’s perfectly tuned for top-level riding.
Which segment of your boot range (Freestyle, Freeride, All-Mountain, Beginner) are you investing in the most, and why?
Our focus is on the freeride boot program, as we are, at heart, a freeride brand. This dedication drives us to push innovation and performance standards specifically for freeride boots, which in turn elevates the quality and features across our entire boot lineup. Every model benefits from the advancements we make in the freeride segment, ensuring that all our boots—whether for freestyle, all-mountain, or park—meet the high standards of performance, comfort, and durability that riders expect from K2.
Have there been significant changes in how you approach product pricing for the upcoming season?
No- we managed to offer pretty similar pricepoints and just minor adjustments.
Does your 2025/2026 boot line target any specific price ranges?
Fortunately the market educated consumers that it’s worth to invest into snowboard boots. Even though there is still a lot of volume in the 200ish pricepoint, we want to encourage snowboarders to do their selves a favour and pay 270 and above in order to get best for the buck. Fit, Lacing options, proper liners and a great outsole.
