NIDECKER SNOWBOARD BINDINGS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboard Bindings F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Nidecker
Interviewee: Santiago de Santa Catalina, Nidecker Bindings Product Manager

How was last season in the snowboard binding market?
Pretty good, despite the challenges!

With the recent overall price increases, have there been any positive developments in manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics?
Despite the rising material and labour costs, we’ve been able to keep the MSRPs consistent with 24/25. That’s thanks in part to the close relationship we enjoy with our factories. But we understand that the market has price points which we need to hit, so we’ve actually been able to cut the price on one key item – the current Supermatic® – which becomes the OG Supermatic® and comes down in price by 50€.

What are the major trends you’re seeing with product pricing in the snowboard bindings market?
It seems that everyone is trying to provide good “bang for the buck”. But in an uncertain market, the brands who will win are the ones who continue to invest in tech and produce real-world benefits – it’s a strategy that’s worked for us so far.

E-commerce Vs. physical retail, how are you balancing both channels?
In some markets customers will always prefer buying directly from a brand, and we’re happy to meet this need. But to be clear, E-commerce is a small complement to our primary business, which is wholesale. Shops are the cornerstones of snowboard culture and a big goal this year has been to help retailers with dedicated POP, windows, collaborations, giveaways, events, clinics and lots, lots more to really build the love within our community.

How are you supporting retailers to sell this category?
There’s a trend towards carryforward product, but it’s a complex subject with a lot of nuance. We’ve been doing it for years now and feel we’ve hit the sweet spot in terms of creating a buzz with new products and innovation while providing solid carryforward options. On the binding side, by making the whole line unisex we’ve been able to help retailers meet consumer demand and make their stock go further; so for instance, the “women’s black” and the “men’s black” are now the same product.

What unique brand messages are you focusing on for the 2025/2026 bindings season?
•Nidecker’s tagline is ‘Different by Design’,  and nowhere is that more apparent than with Supermatic®. It’s a unique system with clear convenience and performance advantages, and we’ll continue to be spreading the message through a variety of campaigns.
• The unrivalled breadth of our binding range – we’re the only brand out there offering Supermatic®, Flow Design and Two-Strap options.
• The dedication to our pro team and direct rider feedback, which most recently resulted in an all-new premium Two-Strap model: the Kaon Pro.

Are you introducing any new innovations in buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc..?
For sure. Innovation is in Nidecker’s DNA and we can’t let a collection go by without introducing some new tech. Our key new components are:
NEW Nylon+ S Ultraback:
Made from responsive glass-filled nylon, this upgraded highback for our brand new LT Supermatic® model is a little stiffer and more laterally supportive than the one we use on the OG Supermatic®. Its subtle asymmetric shape lets you drive through turns, control takeoffs and stomp landings. Speed entry spines on the inside of the highback help your boot slide straight in, while the low-profile forward lean adjuster can be adjusted tool-free.
NEW Exo-Frame S Hybrid Strap:
Constructed from a single piece of injected TPU, the Exo-Frame S Hybrid strap enhances the Supermatic® experience. It’s lightweight, bombproof and supportive, with a redesigned ankle-toe connection and a smooth surface underneath that makes entry and exit easier than ever.
NEW Hexo Toecap 2.0.:
Our updated Hexo Toecap features an enhanced 3D shape that perfectly cups the corner of your boot, preventing any unwanted lateral movement. The asymmetric design lets you switch them between the left and right feet right to customize the fit, depending on your boot’s size and shape.
NEW Nylon and Nylon+ Electron highback:
We developed this new highjack alongside our team riders. It features a subtle 3D design that cradles your boot but offers enough freedom to style out tricks. Tool-free forward lean and longer rotation sidearms make it super adjustable. The all-new Kaon Pro binding uses a premium version of the Electron, with glass-filled nylon for maximum precision on take-offs and landings.
NEW Nylon+ Youth Base:
Our new Youth chassis combines a durable glass-filled nylon baseplate with an aluminum heelcup that can be adjusted forward and backward without any tools – just spin the ankle strap and ladder to unscrew. It’s a clever solution for growing feet, built from quality materials that will go the distance.

Are you using any new materials in your bindings for 25/26?
We’re sticking with our tried and trusted materials this season, but paying close attention to the exact mix of nylon, glass and/or carbon to achieve the stiffness we need for each model. At the top end, getting this right is what allows our top riders to make the most of the critical connection between boot and board.

Any new design or pattern approaches in your 25/26 gear? Any collabs on the line?
A key brand story this year is our extended line of true twin boards, so we’ve matched them up with dedicated binding graphics – a great example being the tiger motif on the Sensor Pro and Kaon Pro. All these model tie-ins have a cool split highback print, which means the left and right bindings are different – and on the Sensor Team, our new friend Ned pops up… Our Bio Series of snowboards has had a refresh this year, so likewise we’re introducing some awesome matching colorways on the all-new LT Supermatic® (Bio Black) and the Kaon Plus (Bio Black and Bio White). And while I’m talking about the LT, a personal highlight is the Magma color option, which has this amazing crackled texture. It’s is totally unique finish that’s formed organically during the painting process and is different for each individual binding. The combination of pink and purple makes it the perfect choice for the new Thruster or anyone who wants an eye-catching, state-of-the-art binding.

Any quick entry bindings in your collection for 25/26?
Just a few, haha… Supermatic® has of course been the most disruptive snowboard product in recent history, and for Winter 2026 it’s available in more styles and color options than ever. Carbon Supermatic® will keep its place at the top of the line, offering the ultimate mix of rapid entry and lightning response. The original Supermatic® has been renamed the OG and comes in four new color options as well as white and black. 2026 OG models also get the new auto-locking LSR 2.0 ratchets which instantly fix your strap settings as soon as you stop cranking. But the big news is that we’re introducing an all-new Supermatic® model, the LT, which features a stiffer, more streamlined highback and low-mass strap design. It’s a super refined binding that proves the old design adage – less is more. Finally, our Flow Design collection blends tried and trusted speed entry with a unique riding feel that comes from the legendary Power Triangle. Refined over decades, these bindings have proved themselves in all conditions and earned a loyal army of fans.

Anything new concerning sustainability and related products or construction you would like to highlight?
As is the case throughout the industry, we’ve had to update certain parts and materials to comply with recent regulations on perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), which were beginning to be restricted for sale in some areas. In our case, we chose to go beyond the legislation and extend changes to the entire binding range. We’re also still proud members of 1% For The Planet – a program through which we give 1% of our total sales to environmental initiatives with crystal clear goals. No greenwashing, full transparency, maximum impact.

Are you planning to focus on a special product range or type of customers?
Our goal is to appeal to every rider with the most comprehensive binding range on the market. Period. Choose lightning fast entry with Supermatic®; precision performance with Two-Strap; or flip it and rip it with the Flow Design collection. Whichever way you go, rest easy that every one of our bindings offers the same rock-solid build quality and that connected feel which you only get with straps.
