Trestles confirmed as Venue for Surfing in 2028 Olympic Games
Following an extensive review process together with the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee (LA28), Trestles has been chosen as the venue for Surfing in the 2028 Olympic Games. This key decision was validated by the ISA and the International Olympic Committee Executive Board, reinforcing the importance of the field of play for Olympic Surfing, following the success of Teahupo’o for Paris 2024.
As Southern California’s premier surf break, and one of the world’s best high-performance waves, Trestles offers the highest quality field of play for Surfing in LA28. Located in San Clemente, Trestles has been a prime venue for elite surfers worldwide for decades, hosting numerous top international competitions as well as U.S. national championships.
Following Tsurigasaki Beach in Japan for Tokyo 2020, and Teahupo’o in Tahiti for Paris 2024, both venues rich in surf history, Trestles is a fitting addition for LA28 to add to Surfing’s growing Olympic legacy.
