Fanning Marks Retirement With 2nd Place Finish At Bells Beach Pro: Ferreira & Gilmore Take Victories

Mick Fanning has marked his retirement from the CT with a second place finish at the Rip Curl Pro at Bell’s Beach, Victoria, Australia. It was an emotional day as Fanning marked the end of his 17 year career at the top level, during which he claimed 22 wins and three world titles. The Australian lost out to Brazilian Italo Ferreira who scooped his maiden WSL CT victory as six-time World Champ Stephanie Gilmore took out her fourth Bell’s Beach victory, defeating Hawaiian Tatiana Weston-Webb in a closely fought final.
