Press Release: elooa SPLITBOARD BASICS CAMP – perfect start into Splitboarding with fresh powder!

Last weekend the elooa SPLITBOARD BASICS CAMP presented by K2 SNOWBOARDING took place in the German Allgäu. With perfect conditions and fresh powder on easy routes we could impress all Splitboard newbees!

The camp in the region Allgäu was addressed to all interested shredders who have always wanted to try a Splitboard on simple routes and under expert guidance. Equipped with brand new K2 Splitboards and avalanche safety equipment from BCA, the participants were familiarized by experienced Splitboard professionals with all the basic techniques and accompanied by certified mountain guides on their first tours.

Before we could start we had to arrange short noticed a new location as our originally reserved mountain hut was not accessible due to the massive snowfall of the last weeks and the resulting high avalanche danger. Therefore we started on Friday evening in Oberstaufen in a new great location with Check-In, a delicious dinner and a Splitboard workshop. All necessary components were explained and could be tested afterwards. On Saturday morning followed a practical training about skins, crampons, poles, avalanche transceiver and of course all the hiking and climbing techniques. Following launched for all participants their first ever Splitboard tour under brilliant winter-sun and with fresh powder to the Nagelfluhkette. With the last warming sun-rays we cruised back from the Eineguntkopf to the valley through fresh powder with smiling faces. Relaxing sauna, mouth-watering dinner and a theoretical avalanche keynote rounded off the day. On Sunday followed another tour through the trees up to the Seelekopf with a practical avalanche and snow-profile training. The following run down through fresh powder performed again a cheerful smile on all faces.

An instructive and snow-rich Splitboard weekend came to an end and we are looking forward to the next elooa SPLITBOARD CAMPS – hopefully also with you!
