From last Friday to Sunday, all participants experienced an unforgettable splitboard weekend at the elooa SPLITBOARD BASE CAMP presented by K2 SNOWBOARDING at Diedamskopf including a traverse into Kleinwalsertal with powder and firn as well as cosy mountain hut evenings with sauna and jacuzzi.

Equipped with the brand new K2 Splitboard models Joy Driver, Split Bean und Northern Light as well as avalanche safety gear from BCA BACKCOUNTRY ACCESS, the participants hiked up on Friday evening together with our mountain guides to the 1700m high mountain hut, our base for splitboard-tours on the following days.

Blazing sunshine with spring-like temperatures and some fresh pow was waiting on Saturday morning. Perfect conditions for our day tour to Kleinwalsertal and back. During the hike up everybody received valuable tips on themes like splitboard technique and avalanche safety. Blissful happy the campers reached a peak on almost 2000m and an awesome run down through fresh snowfields into the Kleinwalsertal followed. After a strengthening lunch break at a hut, the return journey via the Neuhornbachjoch and a firn run directly to the hut followed in the afternoon. Back in the cosy mountain hut, a well-deserved dinner awaited us followed by an advanced keynote on avalanche awareness.

Sunday morning had again perfect conditions and thus the Falzerkopf could be climbed. After an untracked rundown followed by an extensive avalanche search exercise, we had to climb back up on the peak. After that, an endless long run down to the starting point in the valley ended this camp. Smiling faces recapped this weekend and made sure: „Thanks elooa for the great camp and Servus until next time!“

An absolutely unforgettable weekend came to an end and we are looking forward to the next elooa SPLITBOARD CAMPS – maybe also with you!
