Hurley Teams Up With Nissan To Create Dedicated Surf Van

Car manufacturer Nissan has teamed up with Hurley to create a dedicated surf van. The Primastar City Surfer transforms Nissan’s existing Primastar model and includes integrated features to make transporting boards and equipment and wetsuit drying far simpler.

The fact that surfing is increasingly present on the beaches of our country is a reality. A trend that, with the arrival of summer, has led Nissan and Hurley to create an exclusive vehicle for all those sportsmen and women who enjoy the waves whenever they can: the Primastar City Surfer.

In recent years, the surfing trend has grown exponentially. Today, it is estimated that around 23 million people around the world practice this sport.

The protagonists of the campaign are two professional surfers from the Hurley Europe team, Iker Amatriain and Carolina Mendes. Born in Zarauz, Amatriain is the son of a surfing legend in Europe, Ibon Amatriain. Iker was the 2019 Spanish Absolute Champion, winning in both the Under 18 and Open Division. He also participated in the local Big Wave competition in the Basque Country and reached the final with his father. He has also competed in The Roca Puta Challenge in waves between 4 and 6 meters. Carolina Mendes is a Portuguese surfer who is conquering Europe. In 2017 she won the Portuguese national championship and the European WSL Tour in the same year.

The Primastar City Surfer is a camper unlike any other, with an exterior design with its own personality and equipped with a kitchen unit, sink, fridge, and multiple storage compartments. It also features swivel front seats, a bench seat that converts into a bed and another bed on the roof.

And with surfers in mind, this version also includes special features such as furniture for transporting up to 3 boards with adjustable straps, a waterproof cabinet for transporting wetsuits, an integrated shower, a pull-out drawer for changing before and after each swim, a fan and a drying rack for drying wetsuits with a 240v socket.

The Primastar City Surfer also comes with a special Hurley key designed to be carried with you while surfing, and a Hurley “Enjoy” pack with the essentials for surfing in style: poncho, cap, towel, and backpack.

As if all this wasn’t enough, the Primastar City Surfer is equipped with the best in safety from the Primastar Combi Premium version: the latest Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology with features such as Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control and Intelligent Emergency Braking.
