How was the men’s snow outerwear market in 2023/24
The Softgoods Outerwear Market is a lot depending on snow situation – neverless we see a pretty stable market from the consumer side – but overstocks in the market are still an issue where the industry has to work on long term – to sell the right amount of products in and explaining the functions to consumers even better to create demand.
What is the overall theme behind your 2025/26 outerwear range? From which big trends do you take your inspiration?
Burton’s theme this year is Ride to Paradise, and the idea that paradise is not a place, but a state of mind. We wanted to make sure anyone can have their needs met at Burton so inclusivity for all shapes and sizes was also a big driver for us.
What new fits / silhouettes are coming out in 2025/26? What pant and jacket styles are most important in your range?
This year we’ve retired classics and are launching our new Reserve collection. We’ve simplified the offering and amplified our choices so it’s really easy for our customers to figure out the best products for them. We will have options in slim, regular and relaxed, with both extended (short and tall) and inclusive sizing (XXS-XXXL).
What new colour’s / prints are you introducing?
The new collection introduced a fully fresh palette for us with soft sage, glow green, washed lavender, sunrise coral, light teal, and in gore we have prism violet, and fiesta red. Our prints have some real kick behind them with fiesto pro, graffiti camo and city streets.
Any *NEW* technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials?
It was really important for us to raise our table stakes with this new line, and we’re stoked to have upgraded all our fabrics to be 20k/20k. Our customers can shop between styles without waterproofing being a decision factor, secure in the knowledge that Burton products will keep you dry. We also have regular and stretch options depending on your preference.
Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
The entire classics line is being put to rest. That does mean that we’re saying goodbye to some long time favourites like the covert. We’ve restructured our product offering so that our customer can ask themselves a couple of easy questions to lead them to their perfect Burton option. E.g. Do I want an insulated jacket or a shell? Do I prefer a regular, relaxed or slimmer fit?

For customers that are feeling the current relaxed trend sweeping through snowboarding but still want something timeless and highly functional. They’ve got a clean aesthetic while still packing the pockets you need for your equipment on the mountain and finished off with jogger cuffs.

The Gore Reserve Jacket will be a firm favourite in our new line. The materials feel extremely premium, and we’ve managed to trickle-down loads of learnings from our AK and range of motion collections into these products to give them a highly functional fit. Available in insulated and shell options.

Snowsports enthusiasts have spoken and versatility is key for on mountain products. Our 3-in-1 pant will give them the flexibility that they’re searching for. Featuring an internal insulated short that can be removed to give you the choice from deep winter to spring. These pants can adjust to be a shell for slushy park laps or insulated during the harshest winter months.
