Donate Your Old Goggles To Help Protect Frontline Workers

Amid this global pandemic, hospitals are struggling to ensure their staff have the correct personal protection equipment. Thats’s where UK-based Goggles for Docs comes in; you can help frontline healthcare workers and NHS staff get the eye protection they desperately need.

Goggles for Docs

Goggles for Docs aims to get people to donate their new and/or used goggles to hospitals for staff to use when treating COVID-19 patients whilst waiting for official PPE.

Donations in the UK
Any goggles to be donated need to be prepared as per guidelines to ensure the safety of all involved. Then dropped off at one of the current drop off points: Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire & South Yorkshire. Get in contact with Goggles for Docs if able to help with other drop off points.

Check their UK site for more information.

Donations in the US
There are over 200 drop off points currently available across the US, however for those unable to access a drop off point, there is also an option to post goggles to a chosen hospital.

Goggles to be donated have to be prepared as per guidelines to ensure safety off all involved.

Over 23,500 goggles have been donated in the US so far, however thousands more are still needed and the number is expected to rise as the virus continues to spread.

Check the US site for more information.

If you are able to donate any other PPE, follow the instructions on their website, such as disinfectant wipes/ sprays, hand sanitiser, disposable overalls, face shields… The full list can be found here

Help spread the word on the socials using @gogglesfordocsuk and @ppe4nhs on Instagram to help more staff get the protection they need. And remember, when visiting the drop off points, make sure to follow social distancing guidelines. Stay safe.
