What are the stories you’re pushing this season?
This season we’re bringing a style back into the line that will be a welcome return for long time Emerica fans and a new favorite of skaters who haven’t seen it before: The Mute. The Mute was part of the very first line of Emerica shoes. We’ve kept the design lines the same and made minor tweaks to the construction to get it up to speed with the skating of today. As a brand that’s been by skaters for skaters since day one, we always take consideration from our core supporters when building new products. We see nostalgia and 90s-inspired designs continue to resonate with our base as well as the demand for a great skate shoe at a great price. The Mute checks both of these boxes.
What is your collection theme for SS25?
Our Spring/Summer collection focuses on building a line that is more contemporary when it comes to color and materials while still staying true to the brand’s identity.
Any new technology in your line we should watch out for?
The Mute is the first shoe in the line to use an Empact foam pod in the heel for extra cushioning without driving the price up.
Does your footwear brand have a sustainable element? Vegan shoes?
There’s an ever-present and growing demand for vegan skate footwear. Despite this, suede continues to prevail as the preferred material for skate footwear. We make sure there’s a vegan offering every season in a way that doesn’t come across as an afterthought or inauthentic. We selecting different styles each season to offer in vegan materializations. This season there will be an animal-friendly version of the Heritic, Low Vulc, Cadence, and something extra special I can’t talk about just yet!
Must have styles for SS25?
The Mute is the must-skate style for the season. It’s a killer skate shoe at a great price that has a heritage to it. Can’t beat that! Other must-haves are the Hoban, Spanky Hi, and Heritic.
