Press Release: The 2nd edition of Surf Out Portugal will take place on the 21st and 22nd September 2019, once again at the unique FIARTIL venue in Estoril, close to Lisbon. The event’s mission is to strengthen the surfing business as a whole and create a meeting platform for the industry’s main stakeholders by promoting networking opportunities, dialogue, and interactions between brands, distributors, retailers, and consumers. Once again, the show is based on two main pillars: 1) Brand Showcase: a display of the best products and services around surfing 2) Surf Talks: a place to discuss the central issues that will shape the future of the sport.
Surf Out Portugal offers a unique mix of B2B/B2C initiatives as the event organisers are firm believers that business opportunities are better developed in a friendly and laidback atmosphere. Moreover, the appeal to come to Portugal combined with truly competitive prices for exhibitors makes this event an exciting prospect for years to come.
The inaugural year set the tone, with the around 3000 visitors, 50 exhibitors, 6 debate panels with 27 different guest speakers and the presences of pro-surfers such as Frederico Morais, Ben Sanchis or Tiago Pires with film screenings and autograph sessions.
This year will mark a clear statement of the event’s efforts in becoming a reference for the gathering of the international surfing industry. Established brands like Billabong, Hurley, Salty Crew, Globe, Hayden Shapes amongst many other already confirmed their presence, and exciting new projects like a new international hardware brand that will be presented at the event for the first time ever.
The event will also gather strong names such as big-wave chargers Nic Von Rupp and Alex Botelho, Boardriders Inc President Greg Healy, Chilli Surfboard’s manager Michael Spencer, Ben Cohen, American talent manager, Francisco Spínola, World Surf League’s EMEA General Manager, amongst many others that will be soon confirmed. Additionally, renowned shapers such as Johnny Cabianca, James Cheal (Chilli) and Nick Uricchio will all be present at the event’s exclusive Shaping Bay.
Once more, Portugal takes another step towards growing its international surfing influence, as Surf Out Portugal is followed by the WSL Qualifying Series 10,000 Ericeira and shortly after, the Peniche WSL Championship Tour Stop.
