Etnies Skate footwear F/W 2024 Preview
Retail Buyers Guide: Skate Footwear FW2024 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand: Etnies
Interviewee: Rick Marmolijo Design Director of Footwear
What’s new in terms of silhouettes?
We are introducing a new model called the Barge Plus. With the Barge LS being one of our most successful skate lifestyle shoes, we wanted to create a more technical version for the skate team. It features a double wrapped foxing tape for stability, the STI Performance Level 2 insole and a new GeoHex tread pattern designed with a beefier tread in the forefoot and heel for durability.
Are you introducing any new technology this season?
No new technology, but wanted to continue to push the new Michelin sole that was first introduced in with The Aurelien Michelin cupsole design in Spring 2024.
Is sustainability a concern in your brand?
Pierre has always been a strong advocate in sustainable product, which is why we continue to offer it throughout the line. Whether it’s the Jameson 2 ECO using non-leather materials or The Trees for the Future collection that uses synthetic suedes and organic cotton, it’s something we are proud of. Even our packaging uses natural cardboard, less ink and no glue.
What are the must have skate shoes for FW24?
Customers and flow team riders have always claimed that our kids shoes are some of the best performing in the market. Must haves include the kid’s Joslin and kid’s Marana. We also have little kids Marana that have elastic laces for easy slip.
