Finisterre’s First Women’s Wetsuit
Finisterre have released their first women’s winter wetsuit, made by women for women. After a winter of testing and fine-tuning following the feedback from their Women’s Wetsuit Tester Programme, Finisterre have come up with a wetsuit built to retain heat without compromising performance.
Women of the sea have been asking for a wetsuit from Finisterre for some time and this winter, we’re proud to launch the Nieuwland 4 Hooded Wetsuit.
The wetsuit comes after a winter dedicated to a unique
and widespread tester programme, working with a range of surfers to gauge their feedback and observations.
Following the testing season, we invited all of our women testers to join us for another first: The Women’s Wetsuit Tester Programme Camp. The weekend saw nearly half of our global community of 100 testers descend upon the Finisterreworkshop for two days of surfing, cook-ups, music and invaluable feedback. In the words of wetsuit creator Mat:

The result of the Tester Camp is a wetsuit designed to retain heat without compromising performance, extending time in the water even in the harshest conditions. The wetsuit features an integrated hood, a 4.5mm chest and back panelwith an extra 5mm lumbar patch, offering unparalleled warmth throughout winter. A high proportion of flexible neoprene has been used across the shoulders and throughout the upper body to aid paddling and comfort.
