ISPO Global Summit Edition cancelled
The combined EOG x OutDoor by ISPO tradeshow was due to take place across October 5-7 in Munich, however the ongoing pandemic, travel restrictions and pressures on the industry has resulted in organisers making the difficult decision to cancel.
Press Release:
OutDoor by ISPO: Global Summit Edition to be integrated into ISPO Munich 2022
After listening to the feedback of the trade, along with our partners at ISPO, the decision has been jointly made to cancel the one-time edition of the Global Summit Edition of OutDoor by ISPO slated to take place October 5-7, 2021. The reality is simply that the collective outdoor industry is facing other major challenges from the ongoing global situation right now, and the trade’s attention is quite rightly oriented on current supply chain disruptions and the associated impacts from the pandemic. This decision has been made after listening to members feedback over the past weeks, and out of respect for their time.
Up to this point, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) have worked hard alongside our partners at ISPO to build a comprehensive, informative and diverse program of keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops. This content and concept has been very well received and will form the basis for upcoming content at ISPO in January 2022. We hope that this will mean that the presentations and discussion panels reach an even larger, and more engaged audience.
Mark Held, President of European Outdoor Group said:
“I am proud of the great concept and conference programme the EOG team has created, which was well received, according to the talks we had with leaders from the outdoor sector. Therefore, I’m very sad that the event cannot go ahead this year as the reality is simply that the collective outdoor trade is facing other major challenges from the ongoing global situation right now and it’s a hard ask to get the leadership teams to put all their work aside and come to a conference for three days at this time. We’re now looking forward to ISPO Munich 2022 for the trade to come together and will hopefully find some of this very good content there as well in January 2022, ”
We are contacting all speakers and panellists right now to personally thank them for their commitment to the event and to support the smooth transition of all of this amazing content to the ISPO 2022 event.
Klaus Dittrich, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Management of Messe München said:
“The desire for face-to-face encounters is strong among all industry participants, but the current challenges in the outdoor sector require a presence in the companies. Therefore, from our point of view, it is the right step to embed the lectures, panel discussions and workshops into the program of ISPO Munich 2022,”
Meeting face to face and having an in-person connection has always been imperative for our industry, and we are certain this will continue for many years to come. We may not be meeting this coming month but we look forward the industry coming together at ISPO in its new format early in 2022.
