What were your best sellers in SS24?
The Travel Pack remains our best seller. An allround every-day-carry backpack with great organization features, durable materials and a minimalistic aesthetic. A close second is our newly released Mono Series Minimal Pack. Heimplanets first fully recyclable and recycled backpack made from our specifically developed Dyecoshell™ Mono Material.

How are you segmenting your SS25 lifestyle backpack collection and what are the price points?
We segment via different use cases. For us that is Travel, Every-Day-Carry, and Sports Activities. Our Transit Line is catering towards individuals that require lots of organization while on the go conforming in size to carry-on-luggage requirements. These backpacks offer a durable and highly water-resistant shell providing many compartments for small and large items as well as clothing. The smaller bags of the Transit Line are closer to our Every-Day-Carry system called Carry Essentials. Within this line the Commuter Pack in particular offers adjustable volume due to its roll-top opening giving you flexibility throughout your everyday activities. For sporty activities such as hiking, skiing, or cycling the Motion Series is focused on lightweight materials, comfort and easy access. While the backpacks of each segment have different focuses they are united by certain design principles of HEIMPLANET which are durability, functionality and sustainability through ressource-efficiency.

Which style(s) do you expect to grow the most in SS25?
In terms of every-day-carry items we expect the typical mid-90s daypack silhouette to make a major comeback. This timeless shape marks a strong counterpoint to the cries for ever-changing designs. Our new Mono Series Minimal Pack follows the same idea providing a minimalist aesthetic that remains unfazed by ever-changing trends.

What are the most important technical features in your SS25 lifestyle backpack collection?
For us the major focus is sustainability/eco friendliness through resource-efficiency. This results in carefully considered design choices, particularly in regards to fabrics. We have rigorous quality requirements for our bags that must not be compromised. When the outcome is set, what you can do is adjust the input to ensure that its impact is minimal. The most important technical features therefore is our newly developed Dyecoshell™Mono material – a fully recycled, fully recyclable and dope dyed fabric.

What materials are you using in your SS25 collection?
The majority of our bags will use our own material Dyecoshell™, a dope dyed fabric that is extremely durable and water-resistant. The new Mono Series Packs use the newly developed Dyecoshell™Mono fabric which is made from recycled polyester and allows for resource efficient recycling process yielding virgin-quality fibers. While Dyecoshell™ improved the way we make new products, Dyecoshell™ Mono marks the next evolution in our fabrics development with a distinct focus of the products’ afterlife.

What silhouettes are you featuring in your SS25 collection? Any construction techniques you’d like to highlight?
We will continue to focus on minimalistic silhouettes. Offering gear with timeless silhouettes is important to make sure a bag actually stays in use instead of being cast aside as soon as its visual appeal fades. In terms of construction techniques we will focus even more strongly on our Design for Recycling principle. This means we will keep exploring the possibilities of mono-material concepts such as our new Mono Series. In that we use only a single material type (polyester) to ensure a resource-efficient and simple recycling process. For durability we add aluminum hardware that is easily removable by hand to comply with this principle.

What efforts are you implementing towards sustainability?
At HEIMPLANET we believe sustainability to be an inherent trait of our designs the same way durability and functionality are. Dying the is most resource-intensive process of fabric production which is entirely cut out thanks to Dyecoshell™. The new Mono Series Packs use the newly developed Dyecoshell™ Mono fabric which is made from recycled polyester and turns the bag into a fully recyclable item that allows for resource efficient recycling process yielding virgin-quality fibers. While Dyecoshell™ improved the way we make new products, Dyecoshell™ Mono marks the next evolution in our fabrics development with a distinct focus of the products’ afterlife. Our aim is to extend our Mono Series by introducing more and more items to the mono-material-concept.

What marketing stories do you have in your SS25 collection?
The launch of the Mono Series comes at a crucial time. With the upcoming European Union regulations requiring separate collection of textiles from 2025, the amount of textile waste collected will increase significantly. This creates an urgent need for innovative recycling solutions and products designed with their end of life in mind. Although it is unclear what the final picture will look like, it is clear that change is necessary. HEIMPLANET therefore aims to further drive this development through innovative concepts and to actively participate in promoting progress. To this end, we continue to work closely with external experts in the recycling industry. With the motto “Carry the future, today”, we encourage our users to become part of this movement, voice their opinions and accelerate the process of change together.
