MARKET
What’s going on in the streetwear market right now?
I have the feeling that streetwear is currently divided into two worlds: One is the fast trend world, in which young brands that stand for nothing sprout up, serve a hype and disappear again. The other world is life-style and skill-based and cultivates a mix of old values and progressive developments. This world is home to brands that tell a story and bring together people who aspire to create something. Both worlds absolutely have their raison d’être. One produces successful number one hits and the other li-ves for a long time from a constant range
Are price points remaining similar for next season?
We had to adjust the prices slightly two seasons ago because production has become more cost-intensive, especially in Europe. However, we are maintaining these prices for the coming season and are in constant dialogue with our manufacturers to discuss ways to ensure that this remains the case in the future
Are there any themes/capsules you’re exited to release next season?
We went all out with our jackets. The pattern reflects the cobblestones of the street where I grew up and the style palette includes five silhouettes. In my opinion, jackets are the perfect counterpart to our baggy trousers, as the silhouette is clearly in the foreground here too. We’ve also included a few Japanese designs in the tops, as this market is currently blossoming like a flower in spring in our skate industry. It’s fun to watch and that’s why we’ve created a little homage here
Collaborations?
We are in talks with another child of the 90s. We’ve already had a few meetings with the backpack manu-facturer and will hopefully have the result in our hands by FW24. We also had a good conversation with Philipp Plein and the makers of Karl Lagerfeld (No Joke hahah)
STYLE/MATERIALS
Not in our cosmos! We are consistently expanding our range and feel particularly comfortable with our NOS programmeAre you experimenting with new materials?
When it comes to jackets, we experiment a lot with fabrics and even take inspiration from handbags. When it comes to trousers and tops, we stick to the classic homeboy look
With the colder seasons approaching, what styles and colours are you pushing?
We thought about what would make us feel good at this time of year. A walk in the woods was the consen-sus. The colours you experience there as dusk falls are the colours of our collection.
Is your brand working towards sustainable production?
We don’t take up the cause because we believe it should be the status quo for every brand. But our trouser manufacturing processes are all sustainable and as environmentally friendly as our price point allows.
DENIM
Which trends are you pushing for in the denim segment?
Baggies with subtle but special embroidery. We love our NOS range and it’s the coolest way to offer our existing customers an alternative without giving ourselves away.
What is your current denim collection’s theme and marketing story?
Stay true, homeboy! I was at a fashion show the other day and witnessed the fashionable rape of my be-loved denim. I understand that brands want and need to stand out, but I’m glad that we’re spared all the bells and whistles.
Which technical and sustainable features are you adding to jeans (stretch, sustainable fabrics etc)?
We launched a 100% cotton collection in the first season. At the end of the day, our clothes are also a kind of sportswear. So we developed new fabrics with our skate team, with a bit of stretch.
