HORSEFEATHERS WOMENS OUTERWEAR F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Womens Outerwear F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Horsefeathers
Interviewee: TOMAS KOUDELA, HEAD OF MARKETING

How was the women’s snow outerwear market in 2023/24?
The 23/24 season was solid. Our women’s collection had great results across retailers, with most of them having 50-70% sell-through by early January, even though we were afraid our lineup was a bit behind the curve trend-wise. However, those trends didn’t hit the end customer as fast as expected. That gave us time to fine-tune things for the W24/25 line. The warm, snowless January slowed W24/25 preorders a bit, but the strong finish to the season flipped things around. Shops sold out, and we’re seeing a solid reorder spike early this season. It’s all stacking up to a nice year-over-year growth.

What is the overall theme behind your 2025/26 outerwear range? From which big trends do you take your inspiration?
For us, mission comes first and trends second. We’re all about delivering premium gear at a solid price—stuff that takes you to your next epic ride. For 25/26, we’re all about blending tech and style—nailing the perfect colors and standout all-over prints is key. We’re also leaning into the loose-fit trend that’s blowing up in the community. You can also see it resonating in the mainstream, mainly in looser pant silhouettes.

What new fits/silhouettes are coming out in 2025/26? What pant and jacket styles are most important in your range?
We’ve refreshed some long-time favorites. The Larra II jacket evolved into the Lark, with updated design and features. The position of the longer cut jacket represents Ember jacket with new cut. Rheie morphed into the Nala, meeting a shorter and looser cut, simple design with snowboard technical features. The bestseller Derin II Anorak got a style upgrade and became Fiora with a wide range of color options. The price-point jackets Tay and Tala are fresh new, reflecting the latest style trends. On the pants side, we are keeping only our bestselling Lotte II pants and we are rebuilding the whole line towards a relaxed cut. Overall, we’re more focused on the trending looser silhouettes.

What new colors/prints are you introducing?
Earth tones and pastels are essential this year, with more black in the mix. The trending colors are Taupe, Antarctica, Lotus, Peach, Orchid and Iceberg Green. For prints, Mosaic, Floral Cheetah and Rainbow are standing out. All three allover prints are based on our historically succesfull ones with a new touch.

Any NEW technical stories with regards to fabrics and materials?
We’re sticking with our trusted ones—Ultratech shell material, Primaloft insulation, Coats threads, and YKK zippers. This season, we apply PFC-free DWR coating on the entire line, protecting the customers and the playgrounds we ride without sacrificing durability or performance. We’re also introducing Sorona insulation in select models, which is 37% plant-based, uses 30% less energy, and slashes greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared to nylon. Responsibility matters.

Any trends that your brand is moving away from?
We’re not moving away from much. We’re keeping one bib-pant style for die-hard bib fans and still crushing it with anoraks. The balance is key: offering a wide range of styles while keeping our focus sharp as trends come and go. The only style we are stepping off is the long fitted parka style.
