House Of Vans Hosts Snow Night: TSA 30 Year Anniversary & The Reason Mag Annual Launch
November 8, 2019 sees the return of Vans Snow Night which this year celebrated The Snowboard Asylum’s 30th anniversary and sees Vans team up with The Reason Mag to create the ‘Ban This Killer Craze! Exhibition’ and to host their Rider of the Year awards. The night will also see a collection of snowboard films and boot fitting. All this taking place at the House of Vans in Waterloo.

Vans’ legendary Snow Night is back at House of Vans London this month on 8th November 2019. This year Vans have teamed up with The Reason to host their Rider of the Year award and their carefully curated Ban This Killer Craze! Exhibition. In addition, there will be the usual screening of snowboard films to raise stoke levels before the season kicks off and a Vans Winter 19/20 boot fitting in collaboration TSA.
Every year, the crew at The Reason Snowboard Magazine look through photographic imagery, watch edits, trawl social media and raise the question – who was the best UK rider this year? They then take the input, add their own personal feelings and crown one person The Reason Rider of the Year.
Back in the 80’s, snowboarding was a new, brash and irreverent addition to the pristine ski slopes of the world. As always, new cultures clash with old ones, confusing the established order and leading to a prominent news outlet to demand ‘Ban This Killer Craze!’. Curated by The Reason Snowboard Magazine and with imagery from UK photo luminaries such as Dan Milner, James North, Sam Mellish, Nat Mayer, Russ Shea, Ed Blomfield and many more, the exhibition shows the development of UK snowboarding from the very early DIY days, all the way through to Olympic medal success in 2018.
The films being screened are:
Triple – Vans Europe’s latest film project, a three-chapter series highlighting the beauty and diversity of snowboarding, focusing on park, street and back-country riding
Honey – Vans’ rider Ivika Jurgenson’s new street part (produced by Vans). For the last two years Ivika has been on a mission filming, due to a serious injury last winter she postponed the release in order to deliver a result matching her endeavours.
Scandalnavian – A two-year video project featuring Scandinavian riders including Fridtjof “Fridge” Tischendorf, Nils Arvidsson, Alek Oestreng and Antti Jussila, filmed primarily by Kristofer “Kuske” Fahlgren.
Lovely Days – A Vans Global film project featuring European riders Arthur Longo and Benny Urban, captured during a 14-day road-trip down the coast of North America in celebration of Jake Kuzyk’s new boot.
