JONES SNOWBOARDS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboards F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  JONES
Interviewee: Seth Lightcap

How was last season in the snowboard market?
At Jones, last season was positive for our snowboard category, with little growth driven by new models like the Rally Cat and the PRO Series. We saw increased demand for responsibly sourced, high-quality, high-performance products. By meeting these preferences, we strengthened our market position through innovation and a commitment to sustainability, leading to a successful season.

With the recent overall price increases, have there been any positive developments in manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics?
We’re happy to say the prices on our snowboards have not increased from the previous year. We have an excellent relationship with our board manufacturer which allows us to work together to make sure our pricing is correct while ensuring on time delivery and high quality product sourcing.

What are the major trends you’re seeing with product pricing in the snowboard market?
Consumers are increasingly seeking sustainable and mid-to-high-end snowboards. As a result, our PRO Line and Flagship models have experienced significant growth.

E-commerce Vs. physical retail, how are you balancing both channels?
Our own e-commerce sales are minimal, as our focus is on retailers. Retailers are where most sales happen and are our best way of following consumer trends. E-commerce allows us to support consumers who may not have easy access to physical retail and allows us to stock sizes in boards that retailers may not have enough demand for.

How are you supporting retailers to sell this category?
As in all categories we are supporting retailers by making sure they have everything they need from Jones to market our products. We delivered marketing and sales assets earlier than ever this winter and will continue to do so in the coming years. Our main line of splitboards has remained carry over for the last few seasons (with the exception of a few models) and will do so for winter 25/26 as well. We want to support retailers by allowing them to continue to sell splits that they have stock of instead of adding pressure with new models.

What unique brand messages are you focusing on for the 2025/2026 snowboard season?
Once again we will focus our brand messaging on our mission to make high performance and responsibility made boards for riders of every size and skill level.  The new board models in our 25/26 collection echo that focus as we’re debuting the redesigned Frontier 2.0 and Women’s Dream Weaver 2.0 that appeal to intermediate level freeriders, three new youth boards that offer our premium materials and cutting-edge production technologies to young riders, and the all new Men’s and Women’s Howler which are freestyle focused freeride models geared toward advanced riders.

SNOWBOARD SPECIFIC

What trends or developments are you seeing with regards to board construction, shapes, and general innovation? How is this shaping your 25/26 range?
We feel riders are looking for innovative shapes with performance focused outlines and board constructions that balance weight, response and sustainability. Our new Frontier 2.0 and Dream Weaver 2.0 highlight these trends as they share a new tapered directional freeride shape that’s purposefully designed to be easy to manoeuvre in all-conditions and float like a dream in deep pow. The brand new Men’s and Women’s Howler blends a semi-blunted shape with a hybrid full camber profile that offers a powerful and precise board feel to hard charging freeriders who look to stomp heavy tricks in natural terrain.

Anything new concerning sustainability and related products or construction you would like to highlight?
Excited to debut several new responsibly sourced materials in our 25/26 line including two new carbon stringers and a new sintered base made with 50% recycled material. We will also continue to make the Hovercraft 2.0 solid with our groundbreaking Re-Up Tech stringers that are made with upcycled materials from dead snowboards.

Are you using any new materials in your hardware for 25/26? If so, what and why? We’re interested in anything new in inserts / edges / cores / sidewalls / glue / resin/ wood types / base material / top sheet / wax / etc..
For 25/26 we’re excited to introduce three new responsibly sourced materials. The Mountain Twin Pro will be the first Jones board to feature a partially recycled base. The base is made with 50% recycled / 50% virgin sintered Ptex and offers the same speed and durability as a sintered base made with 100% virgin material. All the board models in our Pro line, plus many of our splitboards, are now built with Bcomp Carbon / Flax stringers. By blending the carbon with flax the stringer offers the unmatched vibration damping and torsional response of carbon with less environmental impact than a full carbon stringer. Our Ultralight splits and the Ultralight Project X are now built with reclaimed aerospace grade carbon that is sourced from an airplane manufacturer. Carbon of this performance grade has not previously been available to the snowsports industry and by using the offcuts and excess rolls we help keep these materials out of the landfill.

Are you planning to focus on a special product range or type of customers? What’s your newest range?
All eyes are on the youth for 25/26 as we’re nearly doubling the number of models in the Jones Youth series. The Happy Mountain will offer parents a strap-in and shred option to teach their young rippers as it will be available as a stand alone board or a complete package with pre-mounted bindings and a retractable tow leash. The new Mountain Twin Junior and Twin Sister Junior get matched with the existing Youth Flagship to offer pre-teen riders both freeride and all-mountain shapes built with premium materials and 3D contour bases.
