Retail Buyers Guide:  Foil S/S 2025 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  JP Australia
Interviewee: Hendrik Holzhauer / Junior Marketing Manager for Neilpryde & JP Australia

What sport is driving the most demand at the moment (kite, wind, wing, surf…) and why?
At JP-Australia, we’re currently seeing the highest demand for wingfoil equipment. While interest in windsurf foils continues to grow steadily, the surge in popularity for wingfoiling has truly taken off. Its appeal lies in its accessible learning curve and the thrill of gliding on the water with minimal gear. As a result, wingfoiling is capturing the enthusiasm of a diverse range of enthusiasts.

Which of your 2024 foilboard set ups have sold best and why?
Our best-selling foilboard setup in 2024 is the X-Winger, our Allround Wing Board. The X-Winger’s popularity stems from its versatility, making it suitable for freeride, freestyle, waveriding, and easy cruising. This board allows riders to perform various activities, from executing thrilling tricks to enjoying leisurely rides. Its smooth, passive take-offs and effortless touchdown recovery enhance the overall experience. The X-Winger is available in two constructions: Pro and IPR, catering to different preferences and needs. While the X-Winger leads in sales, our other Wing Boards and our diverse range of Windsurf Foil Boards also maintain high demand.

What are the main trends in Foilboard construction, materials and design?
The main trends in foilboard construction we see, particularly in wingfoil boards, are centered around optimizing the shapes to enhance performance and versatility. One prominent trend is the shift towards narrower and longer board shapes. These designs aim to improve speed and facilitate early take-offs, making them especially effective for light wind conditions and small-foil wing foiling. The streamlined and efficient ride offered by these shapes allows for quicker acceleration and better handling, which is crucial for both competitive and recreational riders.

What are the highlights of your 2025 foilboard offer?
For MY25, we will continue to refine our range, constantly improving our products based on feedback from our team riders and customers. We are dedicated to the progression of foiling and aim to push the boundaries through our product advancements. A standout in our previous lineup was the R-Winger, introduced in 2024. This board represented a significant evolution for light wind or small-foil wing foiling enthusiasts and demonstrated our willingness to explore new avenues in foiling. The R-Wingers define what a modern race wing board or a light wind board needs to be.

How will you support retailers to sell your 2025 products?
We support retailers in selling our 2025 Foil Boards by providing a range of valuable resources. We supply comprehensive marketing materials, which can be used in both online and physical stores. In addition, we offer test gear for demo events, allowing customers to experience the wings firsthand and boosting their confidence in the products. Our extensive social media presence helps drive traffic to retailers through targeted campaigns, while endorsements from our wing team and team riders enhance the visibility and credibility of our Foil Boards. These combined efforts are aimed at helping retailers effectively market and sell our 2025 Foils & Foil Boards.

What order and delivery model are you offering your retailers?
We provide our retailers with two convenient order and delivery options. They can place orders directly through our B2B shop, where products are shipped from our warehouse in Taufkirchen, Germany. For larger orders requiring high volumes, we also offer the option to place EXW (Ex Works) orders directly from our factory. This allows retailers to manage their own shipping and logistics, providing flexibility to meet their specific needs.

Key Products:

JP-Australia R-Winger Pro:
Size: 65l, 80l, 95l Our all-new 2024 R-Winger range is the next logical progression for the light wind or small-foil Wing foiling. As this new and exciting sport of ours continues to develop at a fast pace, we decided to shift into the new gear. We can well see the early take-off benefits of the very long and narrow Downwind SUP foil boards. While the take-offs are instant, for true Wing foiling the fun is compromised right after the take-off. The boards are too long which makes pumping more difficult and too narrow for comfortable foot switches. That is why we developed the full line of narrower and longer, but dedicated wing boards, R-Wingers.

JP-Asutralia F-Winger Pro:
Size: 55, 66, 77 The “F” stands for “Free” -> Freestyle and Freeride As free as you can be… whether you’re into crazy freestyle moves or pure free flying above the surface, this board has it all. Compared to our first X-Wingers, these new shapes feature slightly longer, narrower outlines and smoother rocker lines to enhance early take-off. The nose outline is pulled-in for low swing weight and better airflow. To compensate for the lower volume of the pulled-in nose outline, we added slightly more thickness in this area. The slightly concave standing area provides a direct feel over the foil.
