K2 SPLITBOARDING F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Splitboarding F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  K2
Interviewee: Marketing Coordinator Nico Steidle

How was last season in the splitboard market?

It was insane. As everyone bought a splitboard during Corona and used it probably twice they urgently wanted to buy a second one that the first one they bought doesn’t feel so lonesome in their garage.

With the recent overall price increases, have there been any positive developments in manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics?

Our Investments in renewable energy and green logistics (our factory is powered by renewable energies only) are lowering energy and transport costs.

What are the major trends you’re seeing with product pricing in the splitboard market?

Materials getting increasingly expensive which displays in increasing prices for the end consumer.

E-commerce Vs. physical retail, how are you balancing both channels?

Retail was, is and will be the backbone of snowboarding. We have seen certain brands focusing on e-commerce only and that didn’t go very well. K2 will always be a brand focusing on retail.

How are you supporting retailers to sell this category?

By running events in stores, supporting them with reasonable pricing and involving them in K2 events like the one we did in Seattle in October. We are simply emphasizing their importance.

What unique brand messages are you focusing on for the 2025/2026 splitboard season?

Face of Freeride!

SPLITBOARD SPECIFIC

What about new board construction, innovation, or shape trends? Any big advancements in functionality? Skinning, transitions, etc, as well as riding? Any specific effort on ranges for 25/26? If yes, where and why?

No Sales no space for innovation. Lets be honest: our splitboards are the best in the game atm, so for now no need for improvement. We have some new stuff coming up for F27.

Are you using any new materials in your splitboard for 25/26? If so, what, and why? We’re interested in anything new in inserts / edges / cores / sidewalls / glue / resin/ wood types / base material / top sheet / wax / etc..

K2 uses the most expensive materials money can buy. We using Spaceglass in a lot of boards, our SpaceGlass material is a premium, lightweight composite that significantly boosts board responsiveness and durability, making it ideal for high-performance riding – though costly, it’s an investment in exceptional on-mountain precision and control.

Any new design or pattern approaches in your 25/26 gear? Any collabs on the line?
