Looking Sideways Podcast Features UK Snowboard Retail Legend Jeremy Sladen
Matt Barr’s Looking Sideways podcast, since debuting in January of 2017 has now featured 38 of “the most interesting stories in action sports and other related endeavours,” and his latest with Jeremy Sladen, a forefather of the burgeoning UK snowboard scene in the late 80s and early 90s and boss of multi-door UK retailer The Snowboard Asylum (TSA) for the best part of 2.5 decades, is up there with the best of them. As Matt explains in his intro, Jeremy might not have the A list status of the likes of Mick Fanning or Travis Rice, but Jeremy, or Jezza as he’s widely known, is an absolute powerhouse in the UK, and indeed European snowboard retail scene and is a fantastic visionary. Tune in to hear about Jezza’s sordid love affair with snowboarding as the two discuss his involvement in building the UK scene, the Olympics, retail, “the industry” and more, all of which is underpinned by his stoke for snowboarding, which is arguably stronger now than it ever has been.
