How is the current longboard market?
The current longboard market has been changing for two or three years and most of the riders who practiced longboard sporadically have changed to surfskate because it is very similar and has even more spin without so much size. In addition, it is very easy to use and you can enjoy it very quickly. The riders who did some modality like freestyle, well, I think they still do it. Where I see many fewer riders is in freeride or downhill, which has greatly decreased its use.
Are overstocking issues still affecting sales?
This 22nd is still loaded with stock, both the brands and the stores, but little by little it is being sold and I think that the 23rd will be a good year and the stock problem will be solved.
What are your collection themes for SS23 and what stories are you most proud of?
Now we are more focused on cruisers and surfskates since, as I mentioned, most longboard riders have switched to these modalities, so we all continue to have basic models such as drop trhought and top mount pintails, with and without tail.
What are the Longboard must-haves for retailers to get in the coming year?
Basically you have to have some top mount model in the shape of a pintail with and without tail for the most classic and some symmetrical droptrought models between 38″ and 41″
