There has never been so many participants out there in the water, however the retailers wetsuit hangers still display some 2023 SKUs: How was the 2024 market and order levels?
The 2024 market for wetsuits has been strong, reflecting the increasing number of water sports participants. While some 2023 SKUs are still on display, order levels have been robust overall. This trend highlights the dynamic nature of consumer preferences and inventory strategies. Moving forward, we aim to better balance supply and demand, ensuring retailers have the right mix of products to meet customer needs.

The production life cycle of a wetsuit is 2 to 3 years generally. Beyond mere carry overs, how should we extend that life cycle of the product, avoiding aggressive discounts and bettering the environmental impact?
We ensure durability by using high-quality materials in our wetsuits. Our outer linings are UV resistant, abrasion resistant, and water-repellent. Additionally, we incorporate Rip Tech fabric, which provides extra protection and tear resistance, making our products as long-lasting as possible. Each year, we focus on gradually updating a part of our range while maintaining other models as carry-overs for multiple seasons. This approach helps managing product turnover and reducing waste. We are also committed to increase our use of sustainable materials. In the future, we plan to incorporate more eco-friendly options, such as durable neoprene and recycled liners, to further reduce our environmental footprint. By integrating these practices, we aim to extend the life cycle of our wetsuits, offering both high performance and sustainability.

The 3/2 fullsuit is the piece of resistance of the spring-summer range, what are the latest developments within your collection (men, women, youth)?
We launched the latest generation of our bestseller Rise, featuring optimized materials, new models, fresh colors, and Rip Tech fabric for enhanced protection and tear resistance. We‘ve upgraded comfort with super-soft neoprene throughout, replaced the mesh panel with double-lined material, and extended internal thermal insulation to cover the entire upper body, even in our summer shorties. This means greater flexibility, supreme comfort, and top-tier thermal protection. The Rise outperforms its price class, giving you a wetsuit that meets high standards without breaking the bank.
