NIDECKER SNOWBOARDS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboards F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Nidecker
Interviewee: Antoine FLOQUET, Nidecker Snowboard Shaper & Product Manager

How was last season in the snowboard market?
It’s been a tough market for outdoor hardgoods in general, and particularly in the action sports and snowboard segments. That said, Nidecker is still in an expansion phase, and looking back over the season we’re happy with our growth and performance.

With the recent overall price increases, have there been any positive developments in manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics?
Prices remain quite stable on our side. Sales are growing, which is enabling us to keep innovating with our marketing and logistics in each product category. It’s also spurred our partners to invest in new machinery, with the result that we can now build more complex parts with a higher level of quality and consistency. Plus the manufacturing is more efficient, so we’re achieving all this while lowering our energy consumption.

What are the major trends you’re seeing with product pricing in the snowboard market?
Prices are stable within our brand.

E-commerce Vs. physical retail, how are you balancing both channels?
In some markets customers will always prefer buying directly from a brand, and we’re happy to meet this need. But to be clear, E-commerce is a small complement to our primary business, which is wholesale. Shops are the cornerstones of snowboard culture and a big goal this year has been to help retailers with dedicated POP, windows, collaborations, giveaways, events, clinics and lots, lots more to really build the love within our community.

How are you supporting retailers to sell this category?
There’s a trend towards carryforward product, but it’s a complex subject with a lot of nuance. We’ve been doing it for years now and feel we’ve hit the sweet spot in terms of creating a buzz with new products and innovation while providing solid carryforward options. For snowboards, we’re improving the storytelling around our unique technical features and linking riders to product more than ever through dedicated boards and our B2C campaigns. We’re also laser focused on the details – like improving the look and feel of the silent salesman stickers on our bases. They’re small things but they all make a difference.

What unique brand messages are you focusing on for the 2025/2026 snowboard season?
Our new tagline is ‘Different by Design’ which speaks to Nidecker’s continued commitment to innovation and quality. We think outside the box, we develop technology that really works, and we build it to last. The recent success of Supermatic® is an obvious example, but innovation has been in Nidecker’s DNA since we started making boards in 1984, and 40 years later our brand holds an impressive amount of patents that are still in use. For Winter 26 we’ve got exciting technology in every category, and on the snowboard side, the new Megalight redefines state-of-the-art yet again. Right through the line, though, we believe our boards have a superior riding feel all of their own. They instantly feel natural and have this insane edge grip – it’s a combination that really inspires confidence.

SNOWBOARD SPECIFIC

What trends or developments are you seeing with regards to board construction, shapes, and general innovation? How is this shaping your 25/26 range?
The true twin category is still growing for sure, and we’re dedicating our first pro model in over a decade to Mons Røisland. The standard of park kids these days is insane, so we’ve also integrated a mini Sensor Pro (the Sensor Pro Youth) which is for young rippers that are progressing fast and need a true twin with proper camber. On the all-mountain side we’re seeing a push for more high tech top end boards, which we’re leaning into with our refreshed Bio Series – which includes a unique construction we call Power Rails – and the new Megalight, which is jam-packed with all-new tech.

Anything new concerning sustainability and related products or construction you would like to highlight?
We’ve been striving to use more sustainable materials in our products for a few years now, and we’ve introduced various environmental initiatives at our HQ. Our goal now is to take the sustainability push to our partners and suppliers. We’re about to change all of our snowboard presses for new models which consume less water and energy. And of course, we’re encouraging our factories to use more solar-power, but we need to be realistic and consider which energy sources are most efficient depending on their needs and geographic location. Finally, we’re still proud members of 1% For The Planet – a program through which we give 1% of our total sales to environmental initiatives with crystal clear goals. No greenwashing, full transparency, maximum impact.

Are you using any new materials in your hardware for 25/26? If so, what and why? We’re interested in anything new in inserts / edges / cores / sidewalls / glue / resin/ wood types / base material / top sheet / wax / etc..
You’ll find all of our technological innovations in the brand-new Megalight, which is where we’re really pushing the boundaries.
1. The Mega Core: This has been in development for years, and we’re stoked on the results. We’ve integrated UD fiberglass between each wood stringer, which brings incredible liveliness to the board while maintaining its flex characteristics pretty much indefinitely.
2.Forged Carbon Integration: We’re the first to bring this into snowboard construction, which wasn’t exactly straightforward. We actually had to reinvent processes both with our carbon supplier and in the factory to make it work, especially for integrating it into the curved nose section.
3.Orbital Cushioning: This one’s special to me – it was actually one of my dream features back when I was a kid dreaming about building snowboards. I always wanted to create a shield around the insert packs to reduce vibration transfer. That’s where you get the tightest connection between board and bindings, but traditionally there’s basically no cushioning there. Now, fifteen years after that first spark of an idea, we’ve finally got the technology dialed and the process consistent enough for production, thanks to investment in some pretty serious new machinery.

Any new design or pattern approaches in your 25/26 gear? Any collabs on the line?
As I mentioned, we’re launching the Sensor Mons pro model. It’s a full-on collaboration between Nidecker and Mons that we’ve been refining together for over two years. The board has a really personal graphic that taps into the 90s trend, and a super specific flex pattern that’s designed to help him score maximum points during the Olympic qualifiers this year. He rides them off the shelf.

Are you planning to focus on a special product range or type of customers? What’s your newest range?
We’re expanding our true twin offering for 25-26 to include high performance freestyle decks as well as more relaxed, accessible boards. And there are models for everyone – men, women and younger shredders.
