What is the current state of the European longboard market, also compared to the US?
We see growth in the EU Longboard market. We see trends in the US coming to EU but also riding style etc.
What is your collection theme and which stories are you important for SS2020?
We focus on the LA beach feeling. We have a line-up that covers Kids & beginners, but also cruisers, freeride boards and surf skates.
What general trends are you noticing in terms of shapes and board sizes?
Dance shapes (+43” top-mounted boards with wheel cutouts and flex)
Freeride shapes for downhill/freeride, but also kids & beginners see the benefits of this shape (typically 35-40”, wheel cutouts, symmetrical, drop through trucks, sometimes also drop-down deck) – the benefits being low centre of gravity, good stability, easy to push as you don’t have to bend the knee as much. A good board to progress with if you get ready to learn slides etc.
What are your main materials for SS 2020?
OP line up is geared to the recreational skateboarder, so we designed a straight forward line of boards using great quality maple wood, retro-inspired custom shapes based on the best selling trends and the iconic OP visuals.
Which technical features are you the most proud of ?
The effort put into shapes and then the general quality/price is very competitive. Especially when you consider the amount of work put into the design of the line-up.
We use High-quality urethane and Abec-7 bearings take these recreational boards to a next level on the proficient side. The main focus is an overall standard construction that delivers functionality and style, at a fair price to the beginner skateboarders.
