How was the European skate footwear market last year?
We launched Opus in April 2023 Spain, Portugal, Germany
How is it faring so far this year?
we’re a new brand and we’re excited about our growth across Europe, this year we’re expanding into Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland,
What are your main price points for next season?
All Opus shoes are under 80 euros.
What are the stories you’re pushing this season?
We have a New Slip on launching with Heroin skateboards pro Swampy. we’re also excited to start running ads in print and on-line with Thrasher and downwardskateboardmagazine.com, https://www.thrashermagazine.com/articles/trash/heroin-s-swolan-video/
How are you catering to shops/customers regarding your marketing approach? Events and so?
We’re working on projects with the CJF foundation. https://www.instagram.com/p/C4t4CkBo_Ns/?img_index=1 Because Opus is new we’re doing lots of skate park and shop visits so customers can see and try on shoes in person and ask questions about the brand and the shoes- products we make.
What design trends are you noticing in the market currently?
The pendulum continues to swing from tight to baggier fit, the bagger the gear the fuller the shoes need to be to complement the fit of the baggier pant.
Any new technology in your line we should watch out for?
Opus will Introduce Cup sole version of our current Vulcanize shoes.
Does your footwear brand have a sustainable element? Vegan shoes?
Opus doesn’t currently offer 100% planet based shoes. We are looking at some interesting alternatives to traditional fabrics, glues and shoe construction and development processes.
