PROLIMIT WETSUITS S/S 2025 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Wetsuits S/S 2025 Retail Buyers Guide
Brand:  Prolimit
Interviewee: ALEX CRETIER

There has never been so many participants out there in the water, however the retailers wetsuit hangers still display some 2023 SKUs: How were the 2024 market and order levels?
The summer market is just starting after taking off slowly because of the cold spring until now and Prolimit presence in stores is high.

The production life cycle of a wetsuit is 2 to 3 years generally. Beyond mere carry overs, how should we extend that life cycle of the product, avoiding aggressive discounts and bettering the environmental impact?
Do not know where this information is from. A wetsuit, certainly a wetsuit made out of CR neoprene has a longer life span depending on the user, storage and handling. SBR is a blend with foam. SBR has a substantial shorter lifetime than CR neoprene is more sensitive to UV and is stiffer. So buying a Prolimit wetsuit you can rely it is made out of the right material which guarantees a longer life span than the 2 to 3 years you are mentioning.

The 3/2 fullsuit is the piece de resistance of the spring-summer range, what are the latest developments within your collection (men, women, youth)?
A 3/2 fullsuit is certainly a growing piece of the market. We offer these in GBS (blindstitched watertight) seams as also in Flatlock but we also see a growing demand for Sunset shorty’s which are shorts with long arms.

Among the various summer silhouettes (springsuit, short/leg fullsuit, long/short john, jacket) which are bestselling (men, women, youth)? And what do you offer in these segments?
The majority is full springsuits in 5mm, 4mm ad 3mm but also the shorty with shortleg and shortarms is a well sold item.

Which neoprene options did you use for SS25?
I assume you mean collection 2024? This is all limestone neoprene with aqua based glue, recycled linings.

Unlike the trend in winter wetsuit, does the backzip entry system still account for big numbers in 2025?
You mean 2024? Yes still very common on the lowerend to mid priced wetsuits.

Tell us about your colours and graphics: Do you favor gender-neutral colors/prints or sundry graphics?
We offer both but for us the panels and cut of the fabric is where we aim at. We are a product lead company and find it particularly hard to create panels and cuts for marketing reasons only. Quality and product knowledge is for us number 1.
