 How many years has your store been trading for and who runs the store?

We have been trading for 8 years. We cater for many younger people as the providence that we are situated in has many students. We are a small shop run by Husband and Wife etc.

What are your best selling brands?

For clothes, our best selling brand is Element and for shoes it has to be Vans. It has been like this for the last 2 years with Vans, they are so popular. Another brand we have is Nike 6.0.

Do you use social media?

Not so much, we find that social media is good for communication but it is not the goal for us as we find it is a medium but its not our main priority.

What are the benefits of having a physical shop over simply having an online store?

Well, we do not have an online store. This is because we are too busy to handle this as we only have a few employees. We enjoy working in the store as you can see the behaviors of the customers in front of you. We find that a lot of people assume that products should be discounted on the internet. When you are talking to a customer you can deal professionally face to face with them and make sure that they are fully satisfied.

How do you choose your products?

We choose the products based on trends then it takes us 6 months to receive the goods, then we try and sell the goods in 6 months.

What are the trends right now?

Trends seem to come in very fast, not as fast as Paris, but still very steady. As far as style is concerned streetwear is very urban. We also see a lot of ‘mountain chiche’. A big trend to hit is the return of the surf vintage. However we don’t really sell this in our products.
