What is the strategy for SS25: carrying-over staple SKUs and/or fresh pieces to boost demand?
All of the above. The goal is to have a perfect balance of brand DNA product, and freshness. With the launch of the surf capsule, the brand has done a great job buttoning up the Trunk category (ie. fit tags, outward story telling, etc.). In SS25 we’ve tried to continue this with the Jams and beach shorts categories, offering an assortment of fits.
What collection stories have you planned for SS25?
Accompanying brand staples, SS25 offers fun fresh artwork, fabrication, and fits, that pay homage to 90’s surf culture, with a Rhythm voicing.
Has Surf Apparel distanced itself from the streetwear and outdoor influences in favor of heritage surf roots?
Creatives are sponges, influenced by everything that surrounds them. Whether it’s a conscious decision or not, we are making choices that have been influenced by past exposures. The importance is knowing who we are (in the present). From there, it’s how, or if, we want to address trends and lifestyles outside of surf.
The fabric spectrum has expanded from the cotton or poly options. Which materials are rising/declining within your ranges?
The fabric choices coincide with the design intent, everything offered is needed. A non-stretch flat hand fabric used on a heritage style is just as much of the brand as the newer higher performance styles with stretch.
Which color/prints will you offer in SS25?
Various saturations of blues, greens, merlot, along with Rhythm earth tones.
How will you be helping retailers to sell your brand?
We will be making sure to deliver on time, working with selected distribution to drive demand in store, positioning uniqueness in action sport. We will also be offering a full POP program, sell-out incentive through gift with purchase, and we’ll be working on digital assets for e-stores and Social media purpose.
