ROME SNOWBOARD BINDINGS F/W 2025/26 PREVIEW

Retail Buyers Guide:  Snowboard Bindings F/W 2025/26 Retail Buyer’s Guide
Brand:  Rome
Interviewee: Matt Stillman, Omnipotent narrator

How was last season in the snowboard binding market?
Overall, last season was a strong one for the binding category. While the hardgoods market as whole had a tough go of things at retail, bindings were certainly bright spot for Rome. With the recent overall price increases, have there been any positive developments in manufacturing, sourcing, or logistics? Currently we do not have any news to share in the realm.

What are the major trends you’re seeing with product pricing in the snowboard bindings market?
Up, up and away! We continue to see riders demanding premium products and they are willing to pay premium prices for bindings.

E-commerce Vs. physical retail, how are you balancing both channels?
We feel that clear and open communication between our reps, distributors and their shops is the only way to find balance in this relationship.

How are you supporting retailers to sell this category?
We find that binding-specific social collateral, binding=specific clinics and brand communications are the best tools to help support our binding category at retail.

What unique brand messages are you focusing on for the 2025/2026 bindings season?
The 25/26 binding collection is all about the all-new, game changing Katana AW FASE. This is an incredibly exciting year for Rome bindings. For the 25/25 line the Katana AW FASE is the centrepiece of a newly re-organized binding collection. We regrouped the binding collection into model specific families, sharing highbacks, straps and adjustment options, each family then featuring different platform options. This allows riders to choose from the Katana Family, the 390 Boss / Brass Family and the Trace/ Hydra family. We feel this will help create a better understanding of the differences between those families and the differences between the AsymWrap, FullWrap and HeelWrap platforms. We are also confident that the FASE Fast Entry System is the future of bindings, this newly restructured collection will allow us great freedom when considering what future models will feature the FASE system.

Are you introducing any new innovations in buckles, straps, highbacks, baseplates, heel cups, etc..?
For the 25/26 season we are beyond excited to present the Katana AW FASE. The FASE Fast Entry system is the future of two-strap bindings, effectively creating a new category of ‘fast entry bindings,’ while optimizing the performance of the tried and true two-strap binding. Designed to be universally compatible with any boot model and any board, the FASE Fast Entry system is an effortless and intuitive way to optimize any ride. When you combine the legendary performance of the Katana AsymWrap, now featuring our new AuxTech-powered OmniFlex Ankle Strap, with the revolutionary performance and speed of the FASE Fast Entry System, you’ve got a recipe for the future of snowboarding.

Are you using any new materials in your bindings for 25/26?
For the 25/26 collection we continue to use variety of premium materials like carbon, nylon and forged aluminium in our binding line.

Any new design or pattern approaches in your 25/26 gear? Any collabs on the line?
The FASE Fast Entry System is the centrepiece of our newly re-organized binding collection. The FASE Fast Entry system features three main components: the AutoBack, which closes automatically around the boot as the rider steps in and opens as the boot is removed. The FastStrap, the innovative longer than average ankle strap ladder, built to stay connected for smooth one-handed entry and exit. Lastly, the FASE system features the Locked-In Toe Strap, built with the Locked Slap Ratchet 2.0 and its unique tri-tooth ladders to stay in place during entry and exit. The Katana family also features our new OmniFlex ankle strap, powered by AuxTech. This solid-state design, it’s a more responsive and powerful take on the locked-in hold of AuxTech.

Any quick entry bindings in your collection for 25/26?
With the addition of the Katana AW FASE binding, we are confidently adding to the growing Fast Entry binding category. All the tried-and-true performance of two-strap bindings, with the effortless and intuitive, optimized speed of the Fast Entry system.

Anything new concerning sustainability and related products or construction you would like to highlight?
Not at this moment in time.

Are you planning to focus on a special product range or type of customers?
Our binding line has something for every type of rider. The restructuring of the line is designed to make it easier than ever for them to figure out which binding best suits their riding style. With the addition of the Katana AW FASE, we are confident that the riders who demand premium performance from their bindings will have a new option for optimized responsive riding.
