Slide On Snow, Pila 2019: Snowboard Brands To Debut At UK Industry’s Historically Ski-Only Event
This year the Snowsports Industries of Great Britain Slide On Snow event, due to take place in Pila, Italy February 25-March 1, 2019 will see the addition of snowboard demos as well as ski for the first time. For any retailers still willing to make the trip, please see contact details below. Please also see the schedule and brand list below.
Press Release: It’s less than one week to go until Slide On Snow 2019 gets underway in Pila, Italy. We’re delighted to announce that new for this year, our snowboarding brethren will be joining our on-snow demo setup, where top UK-based snowsports brands, retailers and media gather to test next winter’s products.
With the addition of 12 snowboard brands and their associated media for 2019 we’re looking to build on the success of last year where we saw 132 individual testers from 25 retail and 5 media organisations who recorded over 2,800 test results on 22 different ski brands and on more than 1,000 pairs of skis.
The initial test lists show 818 pairs of skis and 158 pairs of snowboards will be tested. It could be a bit scorchio. Remember your sunscreen.
Lift passes
All registered Ski Test attendees can get discounted lift passes. If you have not booked through Pilaski, contact Carole
([email protected]) and she will arrange lift passes for your group.
Accreditations can be collected from Mike or Lesley from 18.00 on Saturday or at the Test Centre during the week – if you have already supplied us with names.
Off-piste skiing
Off-piste skiing is permitted in all areas – subject to the usual awareness of slope profiles, aspects, snow conditions and most importantly, the avalanche risk level as indicated by the resort. A local daily avalanche report will be posted at the
Test Centre.
If you plan on skiing off-piste you should have the appropriate kit (and know how to use it).
Evening ski touring
IMPORTANT. Preparation of pistes will start at 17:15. Evening skinning and use of pistes is absolutely forbidden. There are some un-pisted areas that may be accessible. Check at the Test Centre.
