2024 was a balancing act: getting rid of the 2022/23 inventory and introducing fresh SKUs. Did it turn out as you wish it would?
Our inventory situation looks quite promising. We were able to sell most of our products during the season and as we were not introducing new models for 2024, the retailer was benefiting still from an OK margin.
How do you foresee the future of the category? Turning into a legit sport for the masses or still mainly use as a leisure activity by occasional participants?
I think there’s a bright future for the standup inflatable market. It’s a physical and recreational activity and some people call it Sport other people call it having a good time with friends and family. I think as long as people do some physical workout everybody is benefiting and yes, I think it is recreational leisure activity for a lot of people nowadays. Due to Covid the base of people having and using SUBs is very large and everybody can profit from that.
How do your brand differentiate itself in the overcrowded “allround” segment? Pricing, technology, durability, wow factor?
For 2025 we are updating our let’s paddle and our Light models. Both are getting a new design and on the light models. We are changing the side walls to a more stronger material. We introducing as well our Family Sup that suits perfect for those long days of fun on the water.
In terms of pricing, I think we are fitting right in the market right now we have entrance model and medium prize models. The big cake of the market is between 199 and €299.
The second bestselling category would be “adventure SUPs”, which spreads from the touring boards to the fishing/multi-user/river models. Which are the trending segments within your brand?
Fun and having a good time on the water is what we trying to get over to the customer. That s why we introducing our Family Sup for 2025. We see that Covid brought a lot of different users to the sport and especially families. Sometimes their old board is too small and there comes in our Family Sup for the whole family. Nevertheless, we have two medium priced touring models in our line that are perfect for long cruises and little adventures.
Inflatables: Which are your flagship models for SS25?
Like I mentioned our updated Let’s Paddle and Light models with a reenforced sidewall. Not to forget our new Familiy Board.
What kind of support do you offer for retailers? (pre-orders sales terms, in-season restocking, dropshipping, in-store demos…)
We understand that the situation for retailers is still complicated. Nevertheless, we are trying to get back to a normal rhythm with a preorder season and a reorder season. The brand cannot carry all the risk of having a huge stock and supplying products always on demand. Therefore, we offer special pre-order sales terms to encourage retailers to buy into our product products. Of course we offer drop shipping and restocking possibilities as well.
