Longboard Classic: A Quarter Century!
The legendary Longboard Classic is celebrating its birthday… and gifting itself a book. The “Woodstock of Snowboarding” has been attracting over 500 soul surfers, longboarders, off-piste enthusiasts, and snowboard legends from around the world to Stuben am Arlberg for 25 years to celebrate the passion for snowboarding. And this year, on April 13, 2024, it’s that time again.
However, the 25th edition has a special feature because: a big birthday calls for a gift. And the organizers are giving themselves just that with the book “Longboard Classic 25th Anniversary.”
“It’s a declaration of love for snowboarding,” says Paul Gruber, who has been snowboarding for 45 years and founded the “Longboard Classic” in 1999. The book is also an attempt to document 25 years of intense festival history for everyone, and even beyond to the origins of the sport. Paul Gruber and his team have researched for 10 months, sifted through over 6,000 photos, compiled rankings, written texts, and filled 144 pages with pure love for snowboarding.
The book is bilingual (German/English) and richly illustrated. The texts tell of past times, but also of the never-diminishing passion for the sport. “Longboard Classic 25th Anniversary” is exclusively available at and for the Longboard Classic 2024 in an edition of 600 copies.
