Jake Yanko And Kody Tamanaha Crowned 2019 Vans Park Series Americas Regionals’ Champions

The 2019 Vans Park Series Americas Regionals Championships saw Jake Yanko and Kody Tamanaha win the men’s and women’s titles respectively. Both champions have advanced to the 2019 VPS World Championships to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah on the 6th and 7th of September.

Press Release: The 2019 Vans Park Series Americas Regionals Championships concluded this past weekend in Huntington Beach, California to crown Jake Yanko (USA) and Kody Tamanaha (USA) as the new 2019 regional Americas champions. As the last VPS regionals event of the 2019 season, Yanko and Tamanaha are the final winners of the regionals tour, securing their placement into the world championships field. The 2019 VPS World Championships will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 6-7, culminating in the crowning of the new 2019 world champions of park terrain skateboarding.

With a jammed field of over 50 competitors, the 2019 Vans Park Series Americas Regional Championships opened the doors to showcase an array of regional talent at Vans ‘Off The Wall’ skatepark in Huntington Beach. Eclipsing the competition, VPS named Jake Yanko (USA) as the new 2019 VPS Men’s Americas Regional champion, and Kody Tamanaha (USA) as the 2019 VPS Women’s Americas Regional champion, both of whom demonstrated thrilling park terrain performances to earn their first VPS event victories. New to the winners’ circle, Jake Yanko was clearly the most consistent throughout the day, putting down an impressive run that proved his ranks as worthy competition for the Pros, while Kody at just fifteen years of age, rose to the occasion with unique lines and unbelievable tricks that placed her comfortably at the top. Heading to Salt Lake City and representing the Americas, Jake and Kody will look to spring a few surprises as they advance directly to the 2019 VPS World Championships.
